Experience

Since 2002, Ms. Barbier has handled estate planning and probate matters including wills, trusts, power of attorneys including specialized forms for the military, and health care advocates.  She proudly served the Ft Bragg area in providing Wills and Power of Attorneys for the families of soldiers.  Currently, she is the Lawyer Guardian Ad Litem (LGAL) for Ottawa County representing children in neglect and abuse cases.  She has been appointed as Guardian Ad Litem in Guardianship proceedings for disabled adults as well as in Friend of the Court Custody disputes.

Education

Ms. Barbier is a native to Western Michigan having graduated from Reeths Puffer High School before going on to Grand Valley University where she received her Bachelor of Science in criminal justice.  After working in her field for a number of years, she attended University of Denver, Sturm School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate.  

Ms. Barbier regularly attends continuing legal education to keep abreast of the latest changes in the law to better assist her clients.

Community Involvement

Community involvement is a strong principle.  Ms. Barbier has been a member of the vestry at St Paul's Episcopal Church, is a member of the Muskegon Rotary, and is active as a leader in BSA scouting including being staff at Woodbadge, Mackinac Rendezvous and Outing for Scouting. She has been involved in Law Day for the past 15 years including as chairman or co-chairman.  She has also been a past Chairperson of the Children's Trust Fund for Lake County.
